Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 and 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Caster Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Almond Meal
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 170 g Butter, (Softened)
  • 1 Large Egg, (Lightly Beaten)
  • 2 Tbsp. Water
  • 1 Tin Pears, Drained and dried ((Or 1 and 1/2 fresh pears, dried))
  • 3/4 Cup Black Doris Plum Jam

Instruction

  • Line a 9"x13" pan with baking paper and preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Slice your pears into thin slices and leave them to dry on some paper towels.
  • Add the flour, caster sugar, almond meal and baking powder to a food processor.
  • Add the softened butter and pulse until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  • Add the lightly beaten egg and water.
  • Mix until the mixture forms a dough.
  • Spread the mixture in an even layer over the base of the prepared baking tin.
  • Spread over the plum jam.
  • Top with the pear slices and bake for 25-35 minutes.
  • A skewer inserted should come out clean.
  • Allow the slice to cool completely before slicing.
