Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 8 ounce no-salt added tomato sauce
  • 6 ounce tomato paste
  • 6 oz warm water (3/4 cup)
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (or dried onion flakes)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (or 1 tsp minced garlic)
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt-free Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated, about 1 oz (optional))

Instruction

  • In a large plastic or glass bowl, whisk the tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water together. Whisk in honey and all remaining ingredients. Can use immediately. Cover and refrigerate when not in use.
  • Best if covered tightly and let sit for at least an hour. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for 3 months.
  • I like to freeze the sauce in 1/2 cup sections, so I can defrost the amount I need to make a pizza.
