Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 Cup Whole Green Gram
  • 2 tsp Raw Rice / Rice Flour
  • 2 Green Chilli
  • 1" Piece Ginger
  • 1 tsp Jeera / Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 Fistful Coriander Leaves (Optional)
  • Salt (As Required)
  • Oil (For making dosa)
  • 1 Onion (For the topping)

Instruction

  • Chop green chilli, ginger, wash coriander leaves and keep by side. Soak green gram in water for 5 to 6 hours or overnight. Rinse it well before grinding and drain the water completely.
  • In a mixer, add green gram, green chilli, ginger, jeera and coriander leaves.
  • First grind the green gram without adding water, it looks coarse. Then add very little water and grind it again. The batter should be in medium consistency not too thick or watery.
  • Transfer the batter to a bowl, then add rice flour and required salt. Mix the batter well.
  • Heat a dosa tawa, sprinkle little water and if the water evaporates immediately, then the tawa is ready to make dosa. Wipe the tawa with a wet cloth, then pour a ladle full of batter in the center and spread it to the edges. Sprinkle finely chopped onions and drizzle little oil.
  • Cook for 1 minute in low flame and flip it to the other side. Drizzle little more oil and cook again for another 1 minute. I made thin dosa, so it got cooked soon. If making thick ones the time increases.Serve this Moong Dal Dosa Recipe with onion chutney.
