Ingredients

The following ingredients have 11 Servings
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened and cubed
  • 1 cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 6 egg whites, room temperature
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease and flour three 9-inch round baking pans.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together milk, egg whites, and vanilla extract with a fork until well blended.
  • In a separate medium bowl, mix together cake flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt with an electric mixer on low. Add butter and continue beating until well incorporated, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add 1/2 of the milk mixture and beat on medium for 2 minutes. Add remaining milk mixture and beat until well incorporated, about 1 minute.
  • Pour batter evenly between the prepared pans and place in oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove and allow to cool in pan for 5 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
