Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 5 pounds Bartlett pears
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon (ground )
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (ground )
- 1 large strip orange peel
Instruction
- Wash, core, and slice the pears.
- Place the pears into the slow cooker.
- Add the sugar and spices. Toss the pears to coat.
- Add the orange peel on top.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 6 to 8 hours.
- Remove the orange peel and purée the pears with an immersion blender or transfer the pears to a blender and purée well.
- Place the pear butter into clean jars and seal with lids.
- Refrigerate until cooled.
- Serve on bread, with crackers, or as a fruit dip.
