Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (- if you use salted eliminate additional salt)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (- I prefer dark but light is fine)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (- smooth or crunchy)
  • 2 eggs (- large)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour (- bleached or unbleached)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt (- eliminate if you used salted butter)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (- semi sweet, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate )

Instruction

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. *Line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Using a large mixing bowl, melt the butter in the microwave (or stove top). Add the peanut butter and stir until smooth. Add the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla, Stir until combined.
  • Using a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk until combined.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. The batter will be thick like cookie dough, Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter in the prepared baking dish. Top with additional chocolate chips if desired. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the bars are just done in the center.
  • Remove from the oven and cool on a cooling rack. Remove the blondies from the baking dish by lifting the parchment paper. Cut into 12 to 16 pieces.
