- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour ( (bleached flour toughens baked goods))
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 tbsp. unsalted butter (cut in small pieces)
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 to 3 tbsp. half-and-half (or about 1 tbsp. water)
