Ingredients
The following ingredients have 12 Servings
- 4 cups fresh (peeled)
- 2 cups sugar (divided use)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
- 1 1/2 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens baked goods)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- cinnamon (as desired)
Instruction
- Peel and slice peaches.
- Combine peaches with one cup sugar and the water and bring to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Set aside.
- Melt butter in a 9x13” glass baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, stir to combine flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and remaining 1 cup sugar.
- Add milk very slowly so lumps don’t form.
- Continue to stir in milk a few tablespoons at a time until thoroughly combined and mixed.
- Evenly pour batter over melted butter in baking dish.
- Do not stir.
- Evenly spoon peaches and syrup over top of the batter in the dish.
- Do not stir.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon, as desired.
- Bake at 350° for 35-45 minutes or until set.
