Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 1 (16 oz) package spaghetti
- 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 oz) butter
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 to 3 teaspoons minced garlic ((about 4 to 6 cloves), or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 cup flat-leaf parsley (chopped (optional))
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instruction
- Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions.
- After the spaghetti has been cooking for about 5 minutes, heat the butter and olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. After the butter has melted, stir in the garlic and cook just until fragrant, 30 to 60 seconds. Reduce the heat to low and keep warm.☞TESTER TIP: Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta, in case you need a little liquid to help bring everything together when combining the pasta with the garlic butter.
- Drain the spaghetti, return it to the pot, and stir in the garlic butter and the salt. Toss with the parsley, if using, and serve with the Parmesan on the side. Originally published April 22, 2010.
