Ingredients

The following ingredients have 3 Servings
  • 200 grams paneer (grated or scrambled)
  • 1/3 green bell pepper (very finely chopped)
  • 1/3 red bell pepper (very finely chopped)
  • 1/3 yellow bell pepper (very finely chopped)
  • 1 to mato (finely chopped)
  • 1 onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2-3 green chilies (slit)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger-garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt

Instruction

  • Bring out the paneer from refrigerator and thaw for 30-60 minutes. Scramble the paneer well with hands. It is ok if there are few uneven pieces of paneer.
  • Heat a kadai with 1 tablespoon oil. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle. Add slit green chilies, minced ginger-garlic and saute well till the raw smell goes off.
  • Add finely chopped onions and saute till color changes slightly.
  • Add finely chopped tomatoes and mix well. Saute till the tomatoes turn mushy and leave out oil.
  • Add finely chopped bell peppers and mix well. Saute in high flame for 3-4 minutes. Season with salt. Add garam masala powder and turmeric powder. Mix well and saute for 6-7 more minutes.
  • Add scrambled paneer and toss quickly. Cook for 3-4 minutes. Add finely chopped cilantro leaves and mix well. Remove from flame. Add lemon juice just before serving paneer bhurji.
