Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 Tbsp (14 g) butter
  • 1/2 c (75 g) onion ((1/2 small onion, diced))
  • 4 strips bacon ((cut into 1/2 inch chunks))
  • 1 lb (16 oz/500 g) brussel sprouts ((cut in half))
  • 2 c (473 ml) chicken broth
  • salt & pepper ((to taste, optional))

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease baking dish, either a 1 qt casserole dish or 9 x 9 pan.
  • Preheat large frying pan to medium high heat. Add 1 Tbsp butter and melt, then add 1/2 c diced onion and cook until starting to get translucent. Add bacon, cook partially (about 2 minutes). Add cut brussel sprouts, season with salt & pepper, and cook until starting to brown.
  • Transfer onion, bacon, and brussel sprouts to greased baking dish. Add 2 cups chicken broth, or just enough to cover the layer of brussel sprouts.
  • Cover with aluminum foil, bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool 10 minutes before serving.
