- 1 tsp orange zest
- 3 tbsp orange juice
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 lb chicken thighs (boneless, skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup water (ice cold)
- 2½ cups flour (divided)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- Vegetable oil (for frying and then for stir-frying. )
- 1 tbsp ginger (fresh, minced)
- 2 large cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp scallions (chopped, for garnish (optional))
