Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 lb ground beef (85/15)
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 yellow onions (thinly sliced – I use a mandolin to get ultra thin slices)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
Instruction
- Combine the ground beef, salt and pepper.
- Form into four quarter-pound patties.
- Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle to medium heat.
- Place the burger patties on the grill for 3-4 minutes, smash the burgers down with a spatula and top with a handful of onions.
- Smash the onions into the patties, cook for another 2-3 minutes, flip and cook 4-6 minutes.
- Place a slice of cheese on each burger patty and allow to melt for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the hamburger buns to the griddle and toast lightly.
- Place each onion fried burger on a bun and serve.
