Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 1 lb. ground Italian sausage (mild or hot)
  • 9 oz Tomato Sauce (see notes, Progresso Fire Roasted )
  • 2 cups uncooked penne pasta
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 to 2 tbsp fresh basil (cut into thin strips)

Instruction

  • Cook sausage in a 10 inch skillet over medium-high heat 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink; drain.
  • Stir in Fire Roasted Tomato Sauce, pasta, and water. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium.
  • Simmer uncovered about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Remove from heat; sprinkle with cheese and fresh basil. Cover and let stand 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
