Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 3 cup self-raising flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 tbs butter
  • 1 cup milk

Instruction

  • Sift flour and salt into a bowl.
  • Rub in butter with tips of fingers until mixture is a fine soft crumble.
  • Make a well in the centre of bowl and stir in milk with a knife to form a soft dough.
  • Turn onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
  • Pat dough gently to a 2 cm thickness and cut out with a floured scone cutter.
  • Place on a ungreased scone tray and brush lightly with milk.
  • Bake at 200C for 15-20 minutes.
  • Turn out into a tea towel lined dish and cover and wrap with another tea towel.
  • Leave for 5 minutes or until cold.
  • Serve with jam and cream or butter if preferred
