  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/4 teaspoon active yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2/3 cup Nutella
  • 2 ounces chopped walnuts
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instruction

  • For the Dough In a liquid measuring cup add the milk and butter. Heat in the microwave for 35 seconds. Place the liquid into a mixing bowl. Add 1 cup of flour to the mixture along with the sugar, egg, yeast and salt. Using the paddle attachment mix the dough and then slowly start to add the rest of the flour mixture. (If it is still sticky start to add 1/4 cup flour at a time.) Remove the dough from the bowl and place on a floured work space. Knead the dough into a ball shape for about 5 minutes. Spray a bowl with cooking spray and roll the dough into the bowl until it is well coated. Place in a warm area covered for 2 hours. Remove the dough from the bowl and place back on a floured surface and roll out the dough until it forms a thin rectangular shape. For the Filling Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spread out the nutella onto the top of the dough with a spatula. Top with the melted butter, then walnuts followed by the sugar. Starting with one end roll up the dough to form a long tube shape. (You may have butter coming out from all ends.) Using a sharp knife start to cut down on the dough about a half inch in width. Place the rolls into two sprayed circular pans. Make sure to leave enough room for the rolls to expand while cooking. (Knife may need to be washed with water after 3 or 4 slices to make sure the slices stay clean from the nutella oozing out.) Place the pans on the middle rack and bake 14-16 minutes or until golden brown. (Don’t over bake) For the Icing In a bowl combine all of the ingredients and stir with a spoon. When rolls come out of the oven drizzle the icing on top. Best served warm.
