Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 6 pears (cut into 1-inch chunks (do not peel))
- 1 ½ cups sugar (divided)
- ¼ cup water
- 8 Tbsp. butter
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 1 tsp. cardamom
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon (divided)
- Powder sugar for dusting
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Combine the pears, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.
- Place the butter in a 9x13 baking dish and place in oven to melt.
- Mix remaining sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, cardamom, ½ tsp. cinnamon, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir.
- Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in pear syrup. Sprinkle the top with remaining cinnamon.
- Bake for 35 to 45 minutes. The batter will rise to the top during baking and will look like a cake/cobbler.
- Cool and dust with powdered sugar.
- To serve, scoop onto a plate and serve with vanilla ice cream or gelato!
