Ingredients
The following ingredients have 24 Servings
- 375 g sultanas
- 3 eggs
- 250 g plain flour
- 60 g self-raising flour
- 250 g butter
- 250 g white sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp cornflour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/2 cup almonds chopped
Instruction
- Boil sultanas in ¾ of a cup water and then cool.
- Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl.
- Mix cornflour with water. Add cornflour mixture with vanilla and eggs, then sift in dry ingredients. Add in boiled sultanas last.
- Pour the mixture into a 23 cm square cake tin, lined with baking paper.
- Scatter chopped almonds over the top and press gently into cake.
- Bake at 180C for 1½ hours.
