Ingredients
The following ingredients have 6 Servings
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup soy sauce ((use gluten free, if needed))
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 6 cloves garlic ((minced))
- 1 teaspoon ginger ((minced))
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes ((optional))
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 pounds ground beef ((I use 90% lean))
Instruction
- Combine water, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch and red pepper flakes, if using, in a small bowl. Whisk to blend. Set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large, deep skillet on medium-high. Add the ground beef and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the sauce and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds or slices of green onion, if desired.
