Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 12 oz powdered sugar 3/4 of a standard box of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a sauce pan, bring to boil 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of water and 4 Tablespoons of cocoa.
  • Stir well and then take off the stove to cool.
  • In a large bowl add your flour, sugar, salt and baking soda and mix well.
  • When cooled pour chocolate mixture into the flour mixture along with 2 beaten eggs and the sour cream. Mix to combine.
  • Pour into a large greased and floured sheet pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until done.
  • Ice while warm.
  • To make the icing, bring to boil 1 stick of butter, 6 Tablespoons of milk, 4 Tablespoons of cocoa and mix well. set aside to cool a bit and then add the powdered sugar and vanilla.
  • Mix well and spread over warm cake.
  • Let sit and completely cool before slicing into pieces.
