Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 c. butter (room temperature)
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp ginger
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. white sugar (for rolling)

Instruction

  • Beat butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and molasses. In another bowl combine the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. Slowly beat into the wet mixture until combined.
  • Chill dough for 1 hour and up to 24 hours.
  • When dough is chilled, remove from refrigerator and roll dough into small balls, about 1'' each, and roll in sugar.
  • Place dough baking sheets lined with parchment paper and baked at 350 degrees F. for about 10 minutes. You want to bake them just until the tops start to crack. Remove from oven and let cool for 2 minutes on baking sheet. Then remove them from baking sheet to wire rack and let cool completely.
  • After they are cooled you can drizzle them with white chocolate if desired. Place white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl, heat according to directions on package and drizzle cookies.
