Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 0.75 cup white Bread (crusts removed)
  • 0.375 cup milk
  • 1 onion
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 2.667 cups mixed Ground meat
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp hot Mustard
  • 1 Chili (chopped)
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram
  • 2 Tbsps chopped, fresh parsley
  • breadcrumbs (as necessary)
  • salt
  • freshly ground Black pepper
  • Oil (for brushing)
  • 2 Red onions
  • 4 tomatoes
  • Fresh herbs (to garnish)
  • new potatoes (to serve)

Instruction

  • For the meat patties, soak the bread in the milk. Peel and chop the onion. Heat the butter in a skillet and saute the onion over a low heat until translucent. Mix the ground meat with the soaked bread, eggs, mustard, chili and onion. Add the marjoram and parsley and as many breadcrumbs as necessary to produce a shapeable mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Shape into patties, brush with oil and grill for 2-3 minutes each side.
  • Meanwhile wash and quarter the tomatoes.
  • Peel the red onions and cut into thick rings. Sprinkle with a little oil and put on the grill with the patties.
  • Put the meat patties on plates with the tomatoes and onions. Garnish with herbs and serve with boiled new potatoes.
