Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 day-old Bread roll
- 1 onion (finely diced)
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp Ketchup
- 1 tsp hot Mustard
- 1 Tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1 Tbsp freshly chopped marjoram
- 5.5 cups minced mixed Meat
- breadcrumbs (as required)
- clarified butter (for frying)
Instruction
- Soften the roll in a little lukewarm water. Sweat the onion in hot butter until translucent. Mix the onion, well-squeezed roll, eggs, ketchup, mustard and herbs through the minced meat. Knead in breadcrumbs as required, until the mixture holds its shape well. Season well with salt and ground black pepper.
- Form the mixture into 8-12 meatballs and fry on both sides in hot clarified butter for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm or cold, with potato salad if desired.
