Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 1 roll pre-made pie crust/dough
  • 1 apple (pie apples such as granny smith or golden delicious are the best option)
  • 1 Tbs butter
  • 1 Tbs sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbs caramel
  • 1/2 tsp large crystal salt

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
  • Roll out the pre-made pie crust/dough, and using a biscuit cutter, cut out 6 pieces, approximately 2.5 inches in diameter. If you don't have a biscuit cutter, use the top of a drinking glass.
  • Place pie crust in the bottom of 6 cups in a muffin tin.
  • Use an apple slicer to remove the core, and then use a Calphalon paring knife to remove the peel.
  • Chop the apple into small, bite sized pieces.
  • Add in butter, sugar, and cinnamon, and stir to mix thoroughly, and to insure the butter is well distributed.
  • Spoon into muffin tin cups.
  • Drizzle caramel over the top.
  • Sprinkle some salt over the top.
  • Cover or decorate the pie bites with the remaining pie crust/dough as you like.
  • Bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown
  • Remove from oven, add more caramel and salt if desired (trust me, you should desire it)
  • And enjoy!
