Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1 clove garlic (, peeled and minced)
- 4 ounces lean ground beef
- 8 ounces canned crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
Instruction
- In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, heat oil 30 seconds. Add onions and garlic and cook until onions become very soft, about 3 minutes.
- Add ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally and breaking up any large lumps, until meat is no longer pink, about 8 minutes.
- Add crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer until sauce thickens, about 30 minutes.
- Taste, and add additional salt if necessary. Pour into a jar or serve with pasta.
