Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 6 pav buns
- 1 big onion (finely chopped)
- 3 big tomatoes (pureed or very finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum
- 2 tablespoon pav bhaji masala powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon crushed ginger garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- cilantro leaves
- lemon wedges for serving
- 6 tablespoons butter
Instruction
- Heat 3 tablespoons butter in a tava. Once the butter melts add finely chopped onions. Saute for 2 minutes.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes off.
- Add finely chopped bell peppers and saute well for 3-4 minutes.
- now add very finely chopped tomatoes and mix well. Add some butter if needed. Saute for 3-4 minutes.
- Add salt, chili powder, pav bhaji masala powder and sugar. Mix very well. Cook for 1012 minutes till the tomatoes turn mushy and butter is released from sides.
- Add 1/2 tablespoon butter and mix well. Move the whole masala to one side of the tava.
- Now take a pav bun and slit in the middle. if you wish you can cut it too.
- Place the cut pav on the tava and toast well from both sides.
- Spread some masala inside the pav and close it.
- Spread some masala on the top too. press well.
- Toast the pav well on all sides. Repeat the same with remaining pav. Serve masala pav hot.
