Ingredients
The following ingredients have 20 Servings
- 2 green onions
- 6 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 oz canned salmon (or cooked fresh salmon)
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
- zest of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2-3 tablespoons Everything Bagel Spice (See Note about making your own)
Instruction
- Add the green onions to a food processor pulse until chopped into tiny pieces.
- Add in cream cheese, lemon juice, lemon zest, liquid smoke and process until well combined.
- Next add the salmon and pulse until it's well combined then spoon into a bowl.
- Take a tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a ball. The mixture is too soft, place it in the refrigerator or freezer for 20 minutes to harden.
- Take all of the balls and roll in the Everything Bagel spice and place on a plate.
- Continue with all of the mixture then refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Alternatively you can make this into 1 big cheese ball and then roll in the Everything Bagel spice.
- The Everything Bagel Spice can be a bit salty for the cheese ball bites so you can also add some finely chopped pecans or walnuts to dilute it a bit. Or you can add some extra sesame seeds or poppy seeds to the mixture.
- You can also make your own spice blend with equal parts sesame seeds, poppy seeds, granulated garlic, granulated onion spices and 1/2 part salt. For this recipe you need 2 - 3 tablespoons total of the spices so I used 2 teaspoons of granulated garlic, 2 teaspoons dehydrated onion, 2 teaspoons poppy seeds, 2 teaspoons sesame seeds and 1 teaspoon salt.
