Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • divided
  • 1 shallot
  • minced
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • minced
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 16-ounce bag frozen steak fries
  • baked or fried to golden brown
  • 2 cups mozzarella
  • shredded

Instruction

  • Preheat broiler
  • In a high-sided skillet or medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat
  • Add shallot and cook until translucent, about 4-5 minutes
  • Add garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes
  • Season with salt and pepper then add remaining butter and melt
  • Sprinkle the flour in the pan and whisk until fragrant and light brown, about 2-3 minutes
  • Whisk in stock and Worcestershire sauce, and continue whisking until there are no lumps
  • Let the gravy come to a bubble, whisking often, until it is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 5-6 minutes
  • Arrange steak fries on a small baking sheet or oven-proof tray
  • Pour gravy over the top of the fries and top with shredded mozzarella
  • Place fries under the broiler until mozzarella has melted, about 1 minute
