The following ingredients have 30 Servings
- 1 tablespoon olive or canola oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 5 garlic cloves (minced or grated)
- 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
- 1/2 cup chianti (optional)
- 3-4 28-ounce cans crushed tomatoes (see note)
- 10 fresh thyme sprigs
- 5 fresh rosemary sprigs
- 4 fresh oregano sprigs
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1 cup soft bread crumbs (torn from white sandwich bread, no crust (see note))
- 1 cup heavy cream or milk
- 2 eggs
- 6 garlic cloves (minced or grated)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan (using the small holes of a box grater)
- 1 cup grated onion (using the large holes of a box grater)
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon anchovy paste (optional)
- 1 pound ground beef (preferably 80 percent lean and 20 percent fat)
- 1 pound ground pork
