Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 tbs vegetable oil
  • 2 onion finely chopped medium
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 500 g beef mince
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1 1/2 cup macaroni uncooked
  • 400 g canned chopped tomato
  • 140 g tomato paste
  • 2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 3/4 cup cheddar cheese coarsely grated

Instruction

  • Preheat fan-forced oven to 180C.
  • Cook macaroni in boiling water with a dash of salt for 15 minutes.
  • While macaroni is cooking, heat the oil gently in a medium sized casserole dish.
  • Add onions and minced garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes.
  • Add minced beef to the pan and fry, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes or until the mince colours.
  • Stir in oregano, basil, cooked macaroni, tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce and paprika.
  • Season to taste.
  • Increase the heat and bring the liquid to boil, stirring constantly.
  • Remove the casserole from the heat and sprinkle grated cheese over the beef mixture.
  • Bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until cheese has melted and is golden-brown in colour.
