  • 3 ½ cups water
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 cup rice (soaked for 15 minutes)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ghee (or oil)
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 green chili (minced or slit)
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
