Ingredients
The following ingredients have 2 Servings
- 1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter ((1oz))
- ½ cup light corn syrup ((4oz))
- ¼ cup Dutch-process cocoa powder ((28g or 1oz))
- 6 ounces good quality semi-sweet or bitter sweet chocolate, (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon sea salt
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream, (half-and-half or milk)
- vanilla ice cream
- whipped cream
- chopped peanuts, (optional)
- cherries for garnish
Instruction
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk, butter, syrup and cocoa powder in a heavy bottom medium saucepan. Heat on medium-low, stirring occasionally until the butter is melted and the mixture is hot.
- Remove from the heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until combined. Set aside for 2 or 3 minutes, then stir again and repeat until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is velvety smooth.
- Add the vanilla, salt and cream. Stir until well blended.
- Use immediately or refrigerate sealed in a jar until needed.
- To rewarm, microwave on 50% power at 15-second intervals, stirring in between until warmed through. You can also place the sealed jar in a bowl of hot tap water to warm. It takes a bit longer and doesn’t get overly hot, but pours beautifully!
- Pour the warm hot fudge sauce over scoops of your favorite ice cream. Top with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. Serve immediately.
