The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 8 - hot dogs
- - hot dog buns
- 8 slice(s) American cheese
- 1 teaspoon(s) butter
- - fresh avocado, sliced for garnish, optional
- ONION AND TOMATO RELISH
- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 1/2 large jalapeno, chopped with seeds
- 1 large vine ripe tomato, quartered
- 2 clove(s) garlic (large), chopped
- 1 tablespoon(s) Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup(s) ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) black pepper
- 1 tablespoon(s) balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoon(s) honey
- 1 teaspoon(s) brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon(s) olive oil
Instruction
- Heat a large frying pan with a tablespoon of olive oil.
- Add the onions, garlic, and jalapeno. Sauté until the onions are slightly golden.
- Add the tomato and continue to sauté until the tomato is soft.
- In a small bowl, combine the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, vinegar, honey, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, ground cumin and brown sugar.
- Stir together and add to the pan.
- Simmer on low while the hot dogs finish cooking (5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally).
- Heat another large frying pan with a teaspoon of butter.
- Add the hot dogs and cook until a beautiful golden color.
- Heat the hot dog buns.
- Place the sliced American cheese on the bun.
- Top with the hot dog.
- Then add the onion/tomato relish.
