Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 8 slices of bread
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/3 cup hot chocolate powder
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder (optional, but highly suggested)
- 2 tbsp sugar (optional, but highly suggested)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
Instruction
- For the Hot Chocolate French Toast: Preheat griddle to 300°.
- Beat the eggs, milk, vanilla, hot cocoa powder, cocoa powder and sugar together. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk. This really depends on the hot cocoa powder.
- Quickly dip each slice of bread in the egg wash, laying on the preheated griddle after.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown.
- For the Marshmallow Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, sugar and buttermilk.
- Bring to a boil. Once it starts boiling, remove from heat.
- Stir in the vanilla and baking soda. The baking soda will cause it to bubble up!
- Stir in the marshmallows until melted.
