Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 pound butter
- 1 pound brown sugar
- 1 pound powdered sugar
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream ((softened))
- 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
- 2 tablespoons batter
- 2 ounces gold rum ((or spiced rum))
- 4 ounces boiling apple cider ((NOT apple cider vinegar))
- whipped cream ((for serving))
- ground cinnamon and cinnamon stick ((for garnish))
Instruction
- Make the batter: Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Blend in brown sugar and powdered sugar. Remove from heat, and whisk in the ice cream and apple pie spice.Pour mixture into a freezer-safe plastic container, seal, and freeze until solid.
- To make the drink: In a 6 ounce glass mug, measure 2 tablespoons Hot Buttered Rum Batter and 2 ounces of rum, then fill cup with hot apple cider. Stir to combine.
- Pipe with whipped cream, and garnish with a dash of ground cinnamon and insert a cinnamon stick.NOTE: For information about the rum, recipe variations, and storage, please refer to the article.
