Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 12 chicken wings (about 2 lbs)
- 4 Tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tsp granulated garlic
- 1 tsp salt (adjust more or less to taste)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp lemon pepper OR black pepper
- cooking spray
- Sauce:
- 1/2 cup thick barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1-2 Tbsp orange juice
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- fresh parsley for garnishing
Instruction
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Pat dry all the chicken wing pieces with a paper towel.
- In a small bow. whisk together cornstarch, garlic, salt, onion powder and lemon pepper.
- Toss the chicken with seasoning mixture, ribbing into the chicken coating thoroughly. Coat wings with cooking spray on all sides.
- Place wings in the air fryer and cook for 9 minutes per side stopping to turn halfway through cooking. Depending on size of wings and the air fryer used, you may need to cook in batches. Do not overcrowd the air fryer. (165°F internal temperature)
- Meanwhile, while wings cook, bring the barbeque sauce, honey, brown sugar, orange juice, ketchup, and soy sauce to a simmer in a medium sized saucepan. Simmer for 3-5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Toss chicken wings with honey barbeque sauce until coated. (You may also do this brushing onto the wings in the last 2 minutes of cooking to char)
- Serve warm with chopped parsley as a garnish.
- Note: If 12 wings won't fit into the air fryer and you need to fry in batches, place cooked wings on a sheet pan and into a 200°F oven to keep warm between batches.
