- 2 cups water
- 6 duck/chicken whole eggs
- 1/2 cups vinegar (see notes 2)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 6 duck/chicken egg yolks
- salt (kosher, canning, or table salt)
- Cheesecloth or coffee filter
- Water (to rinse off salt)
- Wood chips or tea leaves (I used tea leaves)
