Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 2 tbsp Garlic (Chopped)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 kg Fresh Tomato (Cut into small pieces)
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Puree
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves (Roughly torn)
  • 1 can Tomato Paste
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Sugar

Instruction

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a pan.
  • Add garlic and fry for a few seconds.
  • Add dried oregano and fry for a few seconds.
  • Now add fresh tomato, tomato puree, salt, black pepper and fresh basil and cook on low heat for around 45 minutes.
  • Keep mashing the sauce with the back of a ladle.
  • Add tomato paste, red chilli powder and sugar and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
  • Keep in mind that sauce will thicken a little more once cooled.
  • Cool completely.
  • Store in an airtight container.
  • It can be refrigerated for up to a week.
