Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 2 tbsp Garlic (Chopped)
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 kg Fresh Tomato (Cut into small pieces)
- 1/4 cup Tomato Puree
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves (Roughly torn)
- 1 can Tomato Paste
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tsp Sugar
Instruction
- Heat olive oil and butter in a pan.
- Add garlic and fry for a few seconds.
- Add dried oregano and fry for a few seconds.
- Now add fresh tomato, tomato puree, salt, black pepper and fresh basil and cook on low heat for around 45 minutes.
- Keep mashing the sauce with the back of a ladle.
- Add tomato paste, red chilli powder and sugar and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
- Keep in mind that sauce will thicken a little more once cooled.
- Cool completely.
- Store in an airtight container.
- It can be refrigerated for up to a week.
