Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground sausage
  • 2 large cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 1-2 jalapeno peppers finely diced (adjust amount according to heat preference)
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 - 16 ounce cans of kidney beans
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese - for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons Canola Oil
  • Sour Cream - for garnish

Instruction

  • Heat canola oil in a large dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  • Saute ground beef and sausage until cooked through. Add onions, peppers, garlic and sautee for 5 more minutes over medium heat.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, seasonings and kidney beans. Stir to incorporate. Simmer on low for one hour.
  • Garnish with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.
