Ingredients
The following ingredients have 6 Servings
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground sausage
- 2 large cans crushed tomatoes
- 1 green pepper chopped
- 1-2 jalapeno peppers finely diced (adjust amount according to heat preference)
- 1 medium onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons oregano
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 - 16 ounce cans of kidney beans
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese - for garnish
- 3 tablespoons Canola Oil
- Sour Cream - for garnish
Instruction
- Heat canola oil in a large dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Saute ground beef and sausage until cooked through. Add onions, peppers, garlic and sautee for 5 more minutes over medium heat.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, seasonings and kidney beans. Stir to incorporate. Simmer on low for one hour.
- Garnish with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.
