Ingredients

The following ingredients have 18 Servings
  • 1/2 pound bacon (halved length-wise)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 3 (28 ounce) cans Pork n Beans
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup prepared yellow mustard
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

Instruction

  • In a large pot over high heat, fry bacon to partially cooked, with a nice sear on the outside. Drain and set aside, leaving drippings in pot.
  • Add onions and peppers to the pot with the drippings. Saute until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add Pork n Beans and remaining ingredients (except bacon) to the pot and bring to a low simmer.
  • Pour bean mixture into a 9"x13" baking dish. Top with bacon.
  • Bake in 325° oven for about 2 hours.
  • Remove oven and allow to stand for sauce to thicken before serving.
