Ingredients

The following ingredients have 2 Servings
  • 2 cups wine, rice, or cider vinegar
  • 5 herb sprigs (such as oregano, rosemary, tarragon, or thyme), lightly crushed
  • 1 small, whole fresh chiles (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic (optional)

Instruction

  • Put vinegar and 4 to 5 herb sprigs in a jar, seal with a tight-fitting lid, and set aside to let infuse until flavors blend, 5 to 6 days.
  • Strain vinegar through a fine mesh sieve into a decorative bottle and add the additional herb sprig.
  • Add a couple of chiles or garlic cloves, if you like.
  • Tie on a hand-written card with serving suggestions around the neck of the bottle.
  • Store in the refrigerator.
