Ingredients
The following ingredients have 2 Servings
- ½ lb Hatch green chile pepper (about 3 large)
- 1/3 cup almond meal
- 3 tablespoons coconut flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons water
- Avocado oil or olive oil pump spray
- Dressing or dip of your choice.
Instruction
- Slice Hatch green chile peppers in half lengthwise and remove seeds, rinsing under water. pat dry.
- Slice halves into smaller long strands about 1/3” wide. Then cut bigger pieces in half crosswise so that they’ll fit in air fryer.
- Mix together almond meal, coconut flour, garlic salt, pepper and cumin in shallow dish.
- Whisk egg with water in another dish.
- One or two pieces at a time, dip green chile strips into egg wash and then dredge in almond flour mixture.
- Place strips in single layer on tray of air fryer. Note: may need to do more than one batch depending on air fryer capacity)
- Lightly mist top of “breaded” green chile strips with avocado oil spray.
- Insert tray into air fryer and program machine for 10 to 12 minutes on the French Fry setting (400 F degrees). Time could vary slightly based on wattage of machine or size of cuts.
- May also bake on parchment-lined baking sheet in 400 F degree oven for about 15 minutes.
- Serve warm with the dressing or dip of your choice.
