Ingredients

The following ingredients have 14 Servings
  • 1 cup self rising yellow cornmeal mix
  • 3/4 cup self rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped Hatch Chile peppers
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions

Instruction

  • In a bowl combine the cornmeal, flour, baking baking and salt.  Stir in the rest of the ingredients and set aside for 15 minutes. Heat a large dutch oven or skillet with 2 inches of vegetable oil on high heat.  Drop in round spoonfuls and cook 2 – 3 minutes rotating halfway through the cooking process. Lay on a paper towel lined baking sheet before eating.
