Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 2 14.5 ounce cans chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 3 cups chopped cabbage
- 2 large carrots (scraped and chopped)
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- few drops hot sauce or pinch of cayenne (optional)
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instruction
- Combine chicken broth, water, cabbage, carrots, celery, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder and hot sauce in a soup pot on top of the stove. Bring to a boil and turn to simmer.
- Brown the hamburger along with the onion in a separate skillet and drain. Add to vegetables. Add milk and cook until carrots, celery and cabbage gets tender. This take about 20 to 25 minutes.
- In the last few minutes of cooking, add the cheese and let melt into the soup.
