Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 3/4 cup Cheez-Its (crushed into fine crumbs (you’ll want 1/2 cup of crumbs))
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 1 large egg (, beaten)
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 4 hamburger buns (, for serving)
  • mayonnaise, romaine lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slices (, optional toppings)

Instruction

  • Preheat an indoor or outdoor grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a large bowl, using your hands, mix together all of the ingredients until combined and well incorporated.
  • Divide and shape into 4 equal portions (approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 3/4-inch thick.)
  • Oil the grill grates very well and drizzle each patty with a bit of olive oil to prevent sticking.
  • Grill burgers, covered, for about 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until no longer pink, juices run clear, and an internal temperature of 165 degrees F is reached with an instant read thermometer. (Watch the burgers carefully. If you notice them over-browning too quickly, adjust your heat, so they don't burn.)
  • (Alternatively, you can also cook these the same way on the stovetop with a pan that has a lid.)
  • Serve on buns slathered with mayonnaise, romaine lettuce, a slice of tomato and red onion. Enjoy with potato chips or French fries, if desired.
