  • 1 teaspoon salt (more or less to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced or pressed)
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 (2.8 oz) can French-fried onion rings (divided in half)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
