Ingredients

The following ingredients have 5 Servings
  • 1 pound(s) whole, fresh green beans
  • 3-4 slice(s) bacon, cut in thirds
  • 1/3 cup(s) light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) black pepper

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 325F degrees.
  • Combine green beans and enough water to cover in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes.
  • Drain.
  • Wrap 5 or 6 green beans with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • Repeat procedure with remaining green beans and bacon.
  • Arrange bundles in a 13x9 baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar, salt and black pepper.
  • Bake bundles until bacon is crisp about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • TIP: If you don't have fresh green beans use 2 - 14.5-ounce cans of canned green beans. Drain, rinse and drain one more time. Toss beans with 1 tbsp lemon juice for a taste of freshness before making recipe.
