Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 large onions
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 100 cream
  • 0.667 cup Crème fraiche
  • 3 eggs
  • peppers
  • Nutmeg
  • 1.5 cups grated Gouda
  • salt

Instruction

  • Put all the pastry ingredients into a bowl, chop well with a knife then quickly combine and knead to a smooth dough. Cover and put into the refrigerator to rest for 30 minutes.
  • Peel the onions, wash in cold water and dice finely. Heat the oil and sweat the onions until translucent.
  • Mix the cream with the crème fraiche and eggs. Season with salt and pepper and add nutmeg to taste. Stir in the onions and grated cheese.
  • Roll the pastry out thinly on a floured work surface and use to line a tart tin. Spread the filling evenly in the lined tin and bake in a preheated oven (220 °C with top and bottom heat) for about 30 minutes. Cover with aluminium foil if it browns too quickly.
