Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 cups green beans, fresh, cut (approximately)
  • 2 cups carrots, peeled and sliced or a bag of baby carrots - (approximately)
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 3 tblsp butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, more or less to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper, more or less to taste

Instruction

  • In a large skillet or pot, bring enough salted water to cover your carrots and beans to a boil.  I usually add about 1 teaspoon of salt to the water.
  • Add carrots and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add beans and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Drain in a colander in your sink and pat dry with a paper towel as best you can.
  • In a large skillet add broth and butter.
  • Bring to a boil and then decrease your temperature to simmer, medium to medium low.  Add beans and carrots and continue simmering for 3 minutes uncovered to reduce the liquid. Stir regularly.
  • Add honey or brown sugar, salt and pepper and stir for a minute or so to coat. Serve immediately and enjoy!
