- 4 large apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
- 3 tablespoons white whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 cup white whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons half-and-half cream
Instruction
- Make the crust: Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 9x13 baking pan with tin foil and lightly grease. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine all crust ingredients until crumbly. Evenly press in the bottom of prepared pan. Bake crust at 350F 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Set aside.
- Make the filling: In a small bowl, combine all filling ingredients. Evenly spread over crust.
- Make the topping: In a small bowl, combine all topping ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apple filling. Bake bars at 350F 20-25 minutes or until golden-brown and apples are tender. Remove from oven and cool on a wire cooling rack completely.
- Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk all glaze ingredients until you get a thick drizzling consistency. Drizzle evenly over cooled bars, let set 5 minutes, then slice into squares. Enjoy!
